Behind The Scenes Of My Business – Summer ’24 Edition
Welcome to a special edition of my blog where I’m taking you behind the scenes of my business during summer 2024. As an online business coach for female entrepreneurs, I believe in transparency and sharing the real, unfiltered journey of building and running a business. This summer has been a whirlwind of activity, and I’m excited to share how I balance it all, from parenting to productivity, and everything in between.
Balancing Mom Life and Business
One of the biggest challenges I face, like many of you, is balancing my roles as a mom and a business owner. This summer, my daughter Taylor and I have found a rhythm that works well for us. As a co-parenting mom, I have her 50% of the time. This setup allows me to focus intensely on work when she’s with her dad and be fully present with her when she’s home.
Monday and Tuesday Routine
Every Monday and Tuesday, I have a wonderful mother’s helper who comes over to keep Taylor engaged and active. This arrangement is a lifesaver. It allows me to dedicate uninterrupted time to my business while knowing that Taylor is having fun and staying active. It’s all about planning and ensuring that I have those blocks of time to focus on work without distractions.
Batching Content and Staying Ahead
When Taylor is with her dad, I dive deep into content creation and batching. This strategy has been crucial for staying ahead, especially since we have a family vacation planned. Over the past week, I’ve recorded five podcast episodes, which feels fantastic. Being ahead means I can enjoy my vacation in South Carolina without worrying about falling behind on my content schedule.
Updating Courses
This summer, I’ve also been updating my course, “Align Your Brand.” This course is three years old, and while it’s still relevant, I’ve grown and learned so much since its creation. Updating it is essential to provide my students with the most current and valuable information. Recording the updates live in my membership has been a fantastic experience. It not only offers real-time interaction but also allows me to refine the content based on immediate feedback.
Marketing and Expansion
A significant shift in my business this summer has been closing my Facebook group to focus on expanding my presence on Instagram. This decision was a long time coming, and I’m thrilled with the results so far. Here’s what’s been happening on the marketing front:
Instagram Strategy
I’ve been posting a reel every day and supplementing with carousels and shareable quotes. Showing up consistently in stories and repurposing content across platforms has been key. This multi-channel approach ensures that I reach my audience wherever they are and keep my brand top of mind.
Scaling with Ads
Another exciting development is scaling my low-ticket sales funnel through meta ads on Facebook and Instagram. The results have been phenomenal, with my order bump converting at over 30% and a significant increase in upsell conversions. These metrics are a testament to the power of well-structured funnels and targeted ads.
Personal Highlights
Balancing work with personal life is something I prioritize. This summer has been filled with exciting personal milestones and plans.
Family Vacation
We’re heading to South Carolina to spend quality time with my family. I can’t wait to relax at the beach, enjoy warm waters, and indulge in delicious seafood. This trip is all about creating beautiful memories with loved ones.
Welcoming a New Puppy
After years of my daughter asking, we’re finally getting a dog—a miniature goldendoodle named Charlie. The joy this brings to Taylor is indescribable, and I’m looking forward to adding a new member to our family.
Home Improvements
After three years in our house, we’re finally getting the backyard done. A hot tub is on the way, and I can’t wait to have an outdoor space where we can relax and enjoy. It’s these little home projects that make our house feel even more like home.
Day-to-Day Schedule
Here’s a glimpse into my typical day during the summer:
- Morning Routine: I start my day with a walk, aiming for 10,000 steps daily. This time is perfect for creating content or listening to audiobooks relevant to my goals.
- Content Creation: After my walk, I dive into content creation. Whether it’s finishing up a podcast episode, working on a client project, or updating a course, this is my most productive time.
- Client Calls and Coaching: My schedule includes co-working productivity sessions and coaching calls with my Maverick Society membership. These sessions are invaluable for maintaining accountability and providing support to my community.
- Evening Wind Down: I wrap up my day with some personal time, either reading, relaxing, or spending time with Taylor.
Reflection and Gratitude
As I reflect on the first half of this summer, I’m filled with gratitude. The hard work, the hustle, and the moments of joy all contribute to the bigger picture of what I’m building. Entrepreneurship isn’t easy, but it’s incredibly rewarding.
I hope this behind-the-scenes look inspires you to keep pushing forward in your journey. Remember, it’s about finding what works for you, staying aligned with your values, and embracing both the challenges and the triumphs.
Thank you for being part of my community. Your support and engagement mean the world to me. If you enjoyed this post, I’d love to hear from you. Leave a comment or connect with me on Instagram.
