What Actually Works Now to Grow Your Brand, Email List, and Sell Digital Products

If you’ve been pouring your heart into your brand and still not seeing the sales you want, I see you. You’re not alone. In fact, this blog post was inspired by an email I received from someone in the exact same boat—30+ digital products, tons of effort, but no consistent sales. And their honest question hit me hard:

“How long did it take you to grow your following, and what actually worked?”

So let’s talk about it.

Whether you’re just getting started or feel like you’re spinning your wheels, this post is your no-fluff guide to what actually works right now in 2025 to grow a brand and sell digital products online.

My (Humble) Beginning: From Zero Audience to 10K Email Subscribers

Let’s rewind to when I first started.

I was a stay-at-home mom with a dream and a blog. No email list. No Instagram strategy. No clue what a sales funnel was. Just a desire to build something real from home during naptimes.

Here’s what I did have:

  • A blog that helped people solve one specific problem

  • A freebie or low-ticket product linked to every blog post

  • The mindset that small steps every day could turn into something big

And they did.

In about a year and a half, I built a list of over 10,000 subscribers—organically. No ads. No DMs. Just helpful content and clear calls to action.

But here’s the twist: that list was in the “new mom” niche. When I pivoted into online business coaching, I walked away from it.

Yep, I scrapped the whole list. Why? Because your audience needs to be aligned with where your brand is now, not where it used to be.

And while that was scary—it was also the best decision I ever made.

What Worked Then (vs.) What Works NOW in 2025

If you’ve been trying outdated strategies or mixing 2019 advice with 2025 platforms, that could be why things feel off. Let’s break it down.

What Worked Back Then:

  • Weekly blog posts that drove traffic from Pinterest

  • Free 5-day challenges to grow email lists

  • Constant hustle and personal outreach

  • Posting consistently on Facebook

All good stuff… back in the day. But times have changed, and so have audience behaviors.

What Works Right Now in 2025:

Here’s what I use (and teach) that’s producing real results today:

1. Low-Ticket Digital Products

Think $7–$27 offers that solve one problem. These are paid lead magnets. They do the dual job of building your list and qualifying your audience as buyers. This is the core of what I teach inside my Low Ticket Toolkit Method.

2. Connection-Driven Email Sequences

The magic isn’t just in your lead magnet—it’s in what happens after someone downloads or buys it. I build trust and share stories that naturally lead into my offers. My now-famous $5K email came from that exact strategy.

3. Short-Form Content that Converts

Yes, Reels and TikToks still work. But not because they go viral. They work when they introduce someone to you—your voice, your offer, your story. The sale happens in your system (email, offer, landing page), not in the 30-second video.

4. Smart Repurposing

I create once and use it everywhere. A podcast episode becomes a blog, several Reels, and a week of email content. This saves time, grows authority, and multiplies impact—without burning me out.

5. SLO Funnels + Ads

My self-liquidating offer (SLO) funnels use low-ticket products to fund my ad spend. This way, I grow my list and my customer base without going into the red on Meta ads.

Tangible Steps You Can Take Today

If you’re feeling stuck and wondering what to do next—here’s where I’d start:

1. Create a Low-Ticket Toolkit

Choose one specific problem your audience has and solve it with a $7–$17 digital product. Make it actionable, easy to consume, and results-driven.

Don’t overthink it. Your first product doesn’t have to be perfect—it just needs to be useful.

2. Build an Email Sequence That Sells

Don’t stop at “Here’s your freebie!” Instead, tell your story. Share your why. Offer help. Introduce your next paid offer through real connection and value.

Even a five-email sequence can make a huge difference in your conversions.

3. Pick One Platform and Post Daily

Pick one platform—Instagram, TikTok, YouTube Shorts—and stick to it. Post consistently and intentionally. Talk about your toolkit. Share value. Show your face.

Remember: content gets attention. Your email list + offer converts.

4. Measure Connection, Not Clout

Don’t stress about likes or follower counts. Instead, focus on:

  • Email replies

  • DM conversations

  • Toolkit purchases

  • Link clicks

These are the metrics that actually lead to income.

Final Thoughts: You Don’t Need a Huge Following—You Need a Strategy

If you take anything from this post, let it be this:

You don’t need a big audience to sell digital products.
You don’t need to chase every new trend or hack.

What you do need is:

  • A clear, simple offer

  • A connection-based system (like email)

  • Consistent, value-driven content

  • And a long-game mindset

That’s it. That’s the truth.

You’ve Got This.

Whether you’re launching your first product or pivoting into a new season, know this: You are not behind. You’re building something that matters. And the fact that you’re here, learning and showing up?

That’s the hardest part.
And you’re already doing it.
